Organizational History
In June of 1988, Jim Balzer of Montana Federal Credit Union, Steve King of Community Federal Credit Union, (formerly Golden Triangle Federal Credit Union), Ken Meske of Great Falls Teachers Federal Credit Union joined together and started a feasibility study to see just what it would take to form a Credit Union Service Organization (CUSO) to handle their data processing needs.
With the selection of ULTRADATA, now Harland Financial Solutions, as the CUSO's software provider, the feasibility study was completed in August of 1988. CUsource, was founded on August 26, 1988.
In October of 1988, CUsource became operational with Montana Federal Credit Union and Helena Community Credit Union. They were followed by Family First Federal Credit Union (formerly Health Federal Credit Union) and Great Falls Teachers Federal Credit Union in February of 1989. In April of 1989, Russell Country Federal Credit Union (formerly GFGE Federal Credit Union) became the fourth owner and converted in December 1989.
